Bulletin 18th Sunday Of The Year
CHILDREN'S STORY TELLING
This week the story will be about The Good Shepherd and next week the story is about 'Zaccheus' (10th August, final story in the series).
Stories start at 2pm each Wednesday in Paulines Bookshop, Exchange Square.
AFRICAN DROUGHT
Lardge numbers of 'Wee Boxes' continue to be handed in to the church together with individual donations. We are sending a cheque for over £500 to SCIAF on your behalf. Thank you for your generosity. We have plenty of 'Wee Boxes', if you would like to have one, you can pick one up from the back of the church.
SUMMER QUARTERLY
Envelopes for the summer quarterly collection can be found at the back of your box of envelopes. If you have mislaid your box of envelopes, then any envelope can be used to differentiate between your quarterly donation and normal offertory giving. They can be handed in at any time. Your contribution so far for this collection is £428 and I thank you most sincerely.
WELCOMING THE NEW MASS TRANSLATION
This week we are looking at the Gloria. When our parish community starts using the revised English Translation of the Order Of Mass, one of the biggest changes we will notice will be in the words of the Gloria. The rules governing this prayer have not changed. We will still sing or recite it on all Sundays of the year except during Advent and Lent. The text of the Gloria has changed so much that composers have written new and revised musical settings for it. Please refer to www.romanmissalscotland.org.uk for more information.
